Keir Alekseii, Associate Agent, Azantian Literary Agency

Thank you for your interest! Before querying me, please be sure to review my MSWL to ensure your book is a fit for me.

**QUERY LETTER**
Please include an intro paragraph with your metadata (title, age category, genre, word count, comparative titles).

Example: BOOK TITLE is a YA fantasy novel, complete at 89,000 words. It will appeal to fans of COMP ONE's magic system and COMP TWO's corruption arc.

If I liked your Twitter pitch in an event or if you are querying me via referral, please mention this in your intro paragraph as well and include a link to the pitch, the text of the pitch or the name of the person who referred you.

If you'd like to tell me why this book is a good fit, you can include this in your intro paragraph as well.

Example: I hope you'll like BOOK TITLE as your MSWL mentions that you enjoy the found family trope and stories that centre queer happiness.

Please include a 1-3 paragraph blurb that describes what your novel is about. Some people also call this a 1-3 paragraph pitch. For an example of what this might look like, check out the description on the back of a novel, or on its dust jacket.

**AUTHOR BIO**
Please provide a short (1-5 sentences) paragraph about you that includes any writing credentials, any aspect of your identity that you would like me to know, and something personal about yourself that can help me get to know you, such as if you have any pets or hobbies. You can use first or third person, whichever is more comfortable for you.

Example: I am a queer person of colour, born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, like my main character. I've attended the Cropper Residential Writing Workshop (2019) and am privileged to work remotely, so I can snuggle with one of my five cats at any time of day.

**CONTENT OR TRIGGER WARNINGS**
At the end of your query letter or the beginning of your synopsis, please include a list of any content or trigger warnings for your entire novel. For the purpose of this query, content warnings are for something that is alluded to, implied or happens off page but is engaged with/mentioned on page. Trigger warnings are for things that happen on page.

**SYNOPSIS**
In the synopsis section, please include a 1-page (single spaced) summary of events and character arcs that includes spoilers. Here is an example.

**BREATHE**
It is OKAY to have typos, errors, lack of personalization, synopses that are somewhat over 1 page, query letters formatted differently/paragraphs in a different order, CW/TW incorrectly labeled and so on. These are GUIDELINES so that you understand what I'm looking for. I will NOT nitpick your query package or decline it for these small things.

**MORE INFO**
If this is your first time querying, please check out this thread and my #QueryCommentary tweets for information on what I believe makes a good query letter and synopsis. I'll be adding to this hashtag over time.
