Query Jennifer Chevais at The Rights Factory!

Thank you for choosing to submit a query to me!

The categories I'm accepting queries for:

- FICTION (Horror only at this time)

- GRAPHIC NOVELS (must include illustrations - please make your project accessible via a cloud drive and provide me with a link. Your project doesn't have to be finished, but a viable proposal package (google what this package should include) should be provided);

- NON-FICTION (proposals only - please keep in mind that unless a project is incredibly timely (based on current politics or events) an author's online platform will be one of the first things publishers look at. Google what should be in a proposal, which should include, but is not limited to, an overview (the sizzle!), your qualifications, target audiences, marketing, comparative titles, chapter summaries, and three chapters); and

- CHILDREN’S fiction and non-fiction (no YA please). For Picture Books, please provide the whole text. This category may close quickly due to number of submissions (in other words, if you intend to submit later, please keep this in mind).

Diversity is important to me! If your manuscript reflects parts of your personal true story, please let me know in your bio or query!

HOT TIP! I ask for two comparable titles below and I agree that picking comps can be hard. The great news is that you can pick and choose pieces of popular media that describe your story instead of trying to find two titles that describe your project perfectly.

For example, you can say "(Your manuscript's title) embodies the vibe of (Title 1) and the quirky humour of (Title 2), etc..."

Another hot tip is to use popular titles that aren't "too" popular.

Unless I’ve made a specific request, please do not re-query me the same manuscript if I’ve already declined it (Sorry). I understand that this can be a challenge to see with the free version of Query Tracker, however, on our end, we can tell if you've queried us the same manuscript before.

If I’ve made the request to see your manuscript again, please let me know in the query. Please note, the categories I'm accepting may have changed since I requested seeing your manuscript a second time. Please pick the closest one now and let me know the details in the query letter.

***Absolutely NO AI-generated manuscripts, in whole or in part.***
